Tommy Mouton is a southern writer, an award-winning educator, and a writing coach.
He holds an M.F.A. in creative writing from San José State University. His work appears in The Writer’s Chronicle, Flash Fiction Forum, The Adroit Journal, Auburn Avenue, Callaloo, and Reed.
Over the years, he has received fellowships from Public Voices, Writers’ League of Texas, AWP, the Steinbeck Fellows Program, and Tasajillo.
As a dynamic dramatic reader, his work has been featured in venues hosted by: ACC’s Literary Coffeehouse, Poetry Center San José, Babylon Salon, LitQuake, Sacramento Stories on Stage, among others.
A Louisiana native, Tommy currently lives in Austin, where he teaches in the English major at Huston-Tillotson University. He co-owns Flex Your Word with his wife April.

Our writing program is designed for individuals who desire to conceptualize, begin, sustain, and complete a writing project (in all literary genres)
Currently, our program is 1:1 coaching. We will very soon, however, offer “group setting” courses that will cap at 8-10 students per class.
